We Carry What Carries Us

We Carry What Carries Us is an installation piece made up of hollow plaster casts of the plastic galon found virtually everywhere in the Philippines. These “containers” made of plaster are meant to be too fragile to actually hold any water. Made with a porous material that permits liquid to pass through, the plaster casts mirror the fragile situation of needing to physically carry potable water to one’s household when home lacks any other water source.
