Halo-Halo Series
The Halo-Halo series is a collection of gouache paintings meditating on recipes of traditional Filipino dishes including kare kare and halo-halo. They deconstruct and rearrange the ingredients in each dish through layers, lines, and abstraction. The paintings examines the hybridity of dishes like kare kare and halo-halo which arose in the wake of colonization.
